What a day it was yesterday out at Beautiful Bob Neil #1, with Butts’ 200th, Cunno’s 100th, Scum BBQ and B@stards pub crawl topped off perfectly by the A grade men taking care of SPOC by 39 points 🖤They weren’t the only winners though on another massive day for the club. The A grade women made a successful trek out to Angle Fail; the Chards were way too good for SPOC; the B@stards knocked off Pembroke in a huge boost for their top two hopes; the Squabble got it done against Ingle Farm and the Bradys continued their undefeated season with a smashing of SMUSH.The B grade men, Queen Bees and SCUM (good Scum!!) couldn’t quite get the job done but showed plenty of great signs.Happy Sunday Blacks fans! ... "A prodigious, untapped talent and ultimate clubman"; a poetic description which may or may not have been used by Anthony "Butts" Butler to describe himself, but is apt nonetheless. The Butt Man has been a Blacks constant since debuting in 2008 and joins a select group of greats to have represented the AUFC in every senior men's team bar the A Grade. Chances are, if you've stopped by a B grade, Chards, B@stards or Scum game in the last decade, you've caught a decent glimpse of Butts steaming out of full forward bowling over defenders left and right. With 4 flags already under his belt - 1 with P!mp and his C-Men (as captain), 1 Chards and 2 B@stards - you kinda get the feeling that Butts' lower grades odyssey is only just beginning. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him quietly chalk up another 100+ appearances in the black with white V.Happy 200th game to the self-described "best contested mark in amateur footy" 🖤 ... We’re not normally one to plug our 100 gamers on the socials, but this week calls for something special...None other than the men’s A grade captain Damian Cunningham is playing for the ton this Saturday at Bob Neil #1 and, if the last 99 games of crashing packs, hangers and the occasional display of dramatics (see pic 4) weren’t enough for you, we reckon this one’s worth coming out for. For more love letters to Cunno see today’s Subby for some beautifully written excerpts, but nothing sums the great man up more than his question and answer to himself - Cunno: where do you see yourself in 5 years?Cunno: Sitting on the grass at Uni Oval watching the Blacks play. There’s something in that 🖤 Love your work Cunno, what a privilege to have you at our club! *Congratulations also goes to Anthony Butler on game 200, more to come on that tomorrow.
