Inducted 2022

In terms of the nickname;

Whilst undertaking a pre game pitch inspection of a particularly muddy centre square one Saturday in 1994 dressed in thongs, tank top and tack suit pants Matt’s then coach Jimmy Naylor commented that it looked like there was a ‘Blonde Rwandan out in the centre of park 10’ see picture attached for scale. It coincided with the Rwandan Genocides but fortunately Gen Z don’t know that.

Proudest achievement;

Matt was responsible for ‘mentoring’ the current A grade Team Manager Craig Evo Evans during his humble days in the Scum. Don’t let Bunny Warren tell you he taught him anything, his contribution was like a football hazing ceremony most Saturdays.

Other services included;

Club Letters 2008

Outstanding service award 2010

Team Manager/ Assistant Coach Scum 2007 – 2011

Boundary Umpire Scum 2014 – 2021 [excluding nasty northern games]

Fill in player for Mawson Lakes, Brahma Lodge and Athelstone but only when playing against the Scum.
