Was integral in the initial development of “Substandard” (with Steve Stranks) which initially was printed and given out on a Thursday night at training from about 1982. The beginning. Much can not be released publically but be reassured satire was and is still alive and well.
Who will forget his words at his last long lunch before his untimely passing with Cancer? “ I would give it all back to walk the path past the tennis courts and into the grandstand rooms to do it again” . Please visit the plaque in his honour located in the raceway down to the changerooms of Park 12 Grandstand.
The weekly Div 1 Vice Presidents Award carried his name from 2017 onwards and now extends to Div 1 women. Essentially given to those showing great character on the field as Echo did.
