1960 to 1969 our President was JB Day and our Division 1 team played in all 10 Grand Finals winning 6 Premierships. Allen Stewart Greer was instrumental to that success.
Allen was Head Coach from 1960 to 1967.
It has been said that His effect upon Club spirit was immediate, insisting on all sides training together.
Captain for some of those halcyon years, John Sangster, says this:
I congratulate the Club on honouring Allen Greer. I played in 4 winning A1 premierships under his guidance, however, his contribution to the Blacks was not only winning flags but in the values he instilled into all members of the Club. He is most certainly is a Legend of the AUFC.
